At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how many km we do, how many metres of altitude we climb, whether we are 10.000 km from home or around the corner.
The emotion you experience when you are pedaling in bikepacking alone for a couple of days has only one name, it’s called freedom.
The freedom to leave and unplug, disconnect from everything and everyone to lose ourselves in our thoughts our emotions.
To ride almost without a goal, looking for the perfect path of the most sinuous and elegant road.
When I am alone in these places, I think how little we need to be happy.
I think of the immense pleasure that you experience when you chase the scent of bread; that I am the baker of the country; how nice it is to stop every 5 metres to breathe in everything around us and make us feel wrapped in nature.
A bed, a fire, hot food, ready for a night beneath the stars, ready for the well-deserved rest and mind that is fantastic already where to ride tomorrow.
